  Well, let's start with the toilets. They are of the ancient European hole in the floor variety. Good luck hovering over those after a few days hiking in the mountains. This, and the discouragement of showers is clearly a ploy to stop anyone but committed climbers from using the refuge. The food is good honest stuff, though one has to question the extensive lentil and bean diet when sleeping is in rooms of 24 people. Breakfast is pathetic for mountain days, though perhaps typical for Spaniards. The staff seem pretty miserable. Nevertheless, it's the best option for staying up there and the views are AMAZING.

  Large, popular hut and all the problems that come with it: crowded, not very clean, well worn, overpriced food, grouchy staff. But unbeatable setting and most times good water flowing outside.

  Note: the online booking system does not work with non-Spanish cards (as of Jul 17); warden or tourist office are in denial; hut does not answer email or phone or allow bookings by other mean; institutionalized discrimination it seems.

  Beautiful view in a special surrounding of the mountains. However, the refugio feels uninviting and a bit disorganized, the service is not at a very good level. Not many improvements touches would guarantee five stars from me.

  Staff needs to improve, sorry, bad service
